Buenos Aires to Patagonia: Award-winning urban apartments to signature golf villas and ski lodges
The Argentine national dance, the tango, could be the perfect metaphor for the country itself. Argentina is an exciting, vibrant, elegant place, full of promise and possibility. It is also a forward-looking country, with much to offer Europeans keen for a second home, or an investment property, somewhere further afield.
The Argentine landscape is very diverse. It has both gorgeous beaches and sophisticated cities, but it’s worth making a trip to the breath-taking Patagonian region and its glorious mountains, where the views and the ski resorts are reminiscent of the Alps.
Being in the southern hemisphere, the ski season here is over the summer months, often continuing well into October, making it the perfect destination for European skiers too keen to wait for their own winter. If your inclinations run towards less chilly outdoor activities, Argentina boasts some wonderful golf and country clubs, and if you want to escape that cold European winter then Argentina is an ideal winter getaway.
Buenos Aires, the capital city, is one of the most cosmopolitan and friendly cities in the world, with fantastic restaurants and bars, which offer excellent value for money. It is a city that runs on a later timetable than the UK – many restaurants don’t open their kitchens until 9pm, but with bars and clubs open late into the night you never have to go home early.
Cultural delights are on offer everywhere in the city – galleries, museums, opera houses, tango bars and antiques shops. Just wandering the architecturally diverse city streets is a culturally enriching experience, allowing a glimpse into BA’s amazing history: 19th century German influenced houses nestle beside sharp modern wonders of glass and steel.
Argentina is a treat for the committed wine-lover. Its wine producing regions are picturesque and Argentine wine is increasingly respected all around the world. The Mendoza province, with its vineyards and mountain geography, is establishing a reputation as the best region for wineries and holdings.
Argentina is a country rich in natural resources, with thriving industrial and agricultural industries. The quality of life in Argentina is incredibly high, the population highly literate and, unsurprisingly, content. For European buyers, the price of property presents great value for money, and the cost of living once there is amazingly affordable.
